BJ-550 400MHz-470MHz Full Mode UHF Power Amplifier SSB 5km-10km Walkie Talkie Amplifier with N-type Connector

Usage Mode:

- Power measurement: green LED; Bar chart; Not flashing; Output power measurement, increments of 100000
- Power setting display: green LED; Bar chart; flashing; Display the real power limit
- SWR measurement: green LED; Point; Not flashing; Display VSWR standing wave ratio
- Error prompt: red LED; Point; Not flashing; Display error situations

Key Functions:
- RX LNA: On/Off Receiver Preamplifier
- TX PA: On/Off amplifier transmission power
- SSB ON: Switch SSB mode on/off
- SET POWER: Display/Change Transmission Power Limit
- Show SWR: Enable SWR

Turn on/off Amplifier:
- The functions of the transmitting power amplifier and the receiving preamplifier are independent of each other. It can be turned on separately by pressing the RX LNA and TX PA buttons. When the corresponding button is pressed, the corresponding LED lights will light up: when all LED lights are off, the machine is completely turned off.

Change Power Level:
- The transmission power amplifier is equipped with an automatic level control loop, and there are 8 adjustable power levels (10W, 20W... 80W). The first press of "SET POWER" will enter the power preset mode, and the multifunctional display bar will start flashing to display the preset power level. Pressing "SET POWER" for the first time will not change the power level, but will display the actual settings. Continuing to press "SET POWER" will change the power setting. If there is no operation for more than 2 seconds, the machine will exit the power setting mode.
- Automatic level control is saturated nonlinear and only applicable to FM modulation. When using AM/SSB modulation with an amplifier, adjust the ALC value to a power of up to 50W, and then adjust the received power to be close to the power displayed on the bar. Do not exceed 10-15W of the downloaded wave power during AM modulation to adapt to no distortion when adjusting to peak.
- In SSB adjustment mode, only 50W LED light is on, observe the bar graph in PEP mode.

To Turn SSB on/off:
- Press "SSB ON" to turn on/off SSB mode, and the actual situation is displayed by the relevant LED lights. When SSB mode is turned on, the carrier sensing algorithm, delay, and power metering bar will be transformed into modulation characteristics. The bias of the power amplifier itself is not different, because this is the inherent linear design of the current design, different from the previous bipolar transistor design.

Using External PTT Input:
- Place the small socket for connecting the external PTT (external input) on the backplane. It activates TX mode by connecting the central conductor of the socket to the external conductor (ground). Firstly, activate the TX PA function, and the corresponding LED will light up. The amplifier enters external PTT operation mode when it is connected for the first time. The associated LED lights start flashing.
- In external PTT mode, the amplifier does not reflect the RF signal input on the walkie talkie. On the contrary, the external PTT signal is already in use every time it is in TX mode. Once SSB mode is enabled, the TX/RX transition delay still exists. The power meter operates in PEP mode.
- Unless the TX PA button is pressed or the DC power is unplugged, the amplifier is still in external PTT mode.

Measure VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio):
- This practical function can accurately measure the VSWR of the amplifier load. Turn on VSWR measurement and press the SHOW SWR button during transmission. In this mode, the amplifier will remain on for as long as it emits. After releasing the PTT button on the walkie talkie, the display will return to normal operation (power measurement).
- The actual VSWR display is a single movement point, with a low value of 1.2, the corresponding LED lights will flash below this value; with a high value of 1.9, and exceeding 2.0, it will cause the corresponding LED lights to flash and indicate out of range.
- The built-in high-quality VSWR meter compensates for the non-linearity of the detector, making the test results quite independent in terms of output power. In addition, it can provide additional directionality for the remaining VSWR displayed from 1.10 onwards.

Error Signal Explain:
- SWR too high: Detection voltage standing wave ratio exceeds (2.). Generally, it is caused by a faulty antenna; At this time, the machine cannot transmit. Please release the PTT key and resume.
- Over-gear: Input power exceeding 7W; At this time, the machine cannot transmitting. Release the PTT key and resume.
- DC power: DC power supply exceeds the allowable range (10 5-14.8V); At this time, the machine cannot emit. Please release the PTT key and match it with normal voltage before resuming.
- High TEMP: The body temperature exceeds 60°C; at this time, the machine cannot emit and can recover after cooling.
- PA failure: machine electrical failure; At this time, the machine cannot launch. Release the PTT key and resume.
