The straight beam probe is a single-crystal probe used for vertical flaw detection. It is mainly used for longitudinal wave flaw detection. The probe is composed of a socket, a shell, a protective film, a piezoelectric crystal, sound absorption materials, etc. More details:
• The transmission/reception of ultrasonic waves is done by the piezoelectric crystal;
• The protective film is made of corundum sheets with high hardness, which are wear-resistant;
• Aluminum alloy shell with sandblasted/passivated surface;
• Sound absorption materials are used to absorb noise from the back of the crystal;
• The socket is an electrical signal interface and is connected to the instrument via a probe cable.
