Basic Working Principle:
1. Adopt IO port TRIG trigger location, providing a high level signal of at least 10us.
2. Module automatically sends 8 40KHz square wave, automatic detecting whether whether there is signal return.
3. If there is a signal return, a high level is output through the IO port ECHO, the duration of the high level is the time from ultrasonic transmission to return. The test distance = (high level time * speed of sound (340M/S)) /2.
4. This module is easy to use. A control port sends a high level above 10US, you can wait for a high level output at the receiving port. Once there is an output, you can start a timer to count, and you can read when this port becomes low level. The value of the timer, at this time, is the time of the distance measurement before the distance can be calculated. Such continuous periodic measurement can reach the value of your mobile measurement.

Ultrasonic timing diagram:



1. The above timing diagram shows that you only need to provide a pulse trigger signal of more than 10us. The module will internally emit eight 40KHZ cycle levels and detect echoes.
2. The echo signal will output as soon as an echo signal is detected.
3. The pulse width of the echo signal is proportional to the measured distance.
4. The distance can thus be calculated by transmitting a signal to the received reverberation signal time interval.
Formula: uS/58=cm or uS/148=inches;
or: distance=high time*sound speed (340M/S)/2
It is recommended that the measurement period be 60ms or more to prevent the influence of the transmitted signal on the reverberation signal.
