- The motor drive allows tracking of celestial bodies at the rotation speed of the earth. The manual controller can be used as a correction for long exposure photos. In order for the motor driver to correctly compensate for the rotation of the earth, your telescope mount must be polarized and the height axis set to your local latitude. In this case, astrophotography does not need to adjust the deflection axis. You only need the RA motor drive.
- When the power is turned on and all the buttons on the control box are pressed, the motor driver will automatically rotate at the correct speed to compensate for the rotation of the earth. Its rotation speed matches that of the earth, making the star appear stationary in the telescope eyepiece.
