Description:
TPA3255 is a high performance class D power amplifier. It has class D efficiency and is capable of bringing high-end sound quality. The device features an integrated feedback design and proprietary high-speed gate driver error correction (for PurePath Ultra HD). This technology allows the device to maintain ultra-low distortion over the entire audio frequency band while exhibiting sound quality. Operating in AD mode, the device can drive up to two 315W/4R loads and two 150W (unclipped power)/8R loads at 10% THD, and features a 2VRMS analog input interface that allows seamless interfacing with high-performance DACs such as original PCM5242 for TI. In addition to excellent audio performance, TPA3255 combines high power efficiency with ultra-low power stage idle loss (less than 2.5W). This can be achieved with 85mR MOSFETs and an optimized gate driver scheme. This scheme significantly reduces idle losses compared to traditional discrete implementations.
