Description:
Ubertooth One is an open source 2.4 GHz wireless development platform for Bluetooth experiments. Based on the powerful Cortex-M3 LPC175x microcontroller (for ARM) and full-speed USB 2.0, the Ubertooth One is an excellent way to develop a class 1 custom Bluetooth device of its kind. The entire board is only two and a half inches long, with a USB-A connector on one end and an RP-SMA connector on the other.
The difference between Ubertooth and other Bluetooth development platforms is that it can not only send and receive 2.4GHz signals, but also work in monitor mode to monitor Bluetooth traffic in real time. This mode of operation has existed in low-cost WiFi modules for years and has been used extensively in research, development, and security audits, but so far, the Bluetooth standard has no such solution. Also, since it is an open source platform (software and hardware), schematics and code are readily available for all your hacking needs.
