Compass is constituted with an 3-axis geomagnetic sensor. AHRS can read data geomagnetism related from Compass after it’s connected to AHRS.
AHRS can calculate the heading relative to earth's magnetic pole through this data, 3°north by east for example. This heading can correct the gyro yaw drift to achieve heading lock.
