Description:
Using ADF5355 with an external loop filter and an external reference frequency, a fractional-N or integer-N PLL synthesizer can be realized. Microwave wide-band VCO design allows operation from 6.8GHz to 13.6GHz at one RF output. A range of frequency dividers with other frequency outputs enable operating frequencies from 54MHz to 6800MHz.
ADF5355 has an integrated VCO with a fundamental wave output frequency range of 3400MHz to 6800MHz. In addition, VCO frequencies can be divided by 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64, so it can generate RF output frequency as low as 54MHz. For applications that require isolation, the RF output stage can be silent. The mute function can be controlled by pins and software.
All internal registers are controlled via a simple three-wire interface. ADF5355 operates from analog and digital supplies from 3.15V to 3.45V. It comes with a charge pump from 4.75V to 5.25V and a VCO power supply. In addition, ADF5355 has built-in hardware and software power-saving modes.
