Discriptions:

 

This shutter control line is specially designed for multirotor drones carrying onboard GH4, GH3 cameras. It is the most functional shutter control line for GH4, GH3 on drone, it is small size yet stable, safe and of high efficiency features. It can realize remote control such as taking picture, turning on/off video through the channel of 3-position switch gear by outputting stop, focus, take picture(video recording) signals (The setup position for video recording on the other cameras is similar or same)

 

How to connect it:

Connect one end of the shutter control line to the channel on the receiver accordingly, and set up the range of the 3-position gear switch. (3-position gear set up: UP<1.3ms, middle is 1.5ms or so, you can't set up down>1.7ms on most transmitters), plug the shutter connector into the shutter control hole of the camera, please be sure that the camera is power off during the process.

 

Single trigger mode:

It is specially designed for video recording. As GH3, GH4 doesn't support toggling between taking picture and video recording through the shutter line, so you need to change the mode by mode dial. If you want to record video through the shutter control line, please turn the mode dial to video mode, when you turn the 3-position switch gear to UP, then to Middle, shutter is triggered one time, the camera will begin video recording, video recording will be stopped when the steps(UP to DOWN) are repeated.

During the processing, what RCD3017 did was not a simple shutter triggering but focusing the object first, after a short time delay and pressing the shutter operation.

DOWN gear is for focusing object, no shutter operation included.

Under this mode, if the mode dial of the camera is on the picture taking mode, then, it needs 3 gear switch positions as a whole operation for each trigger of taking one picture, because this mode is very useful for video taking other than picture taking.

     

Continuous trigger mode:

This mode is specially for taking picture, under this mode, UP is for continuous shooting, DOWN is for one-shoot picture taking, MIDDLE is for stopping. Each shooting includes the steps of focusing-> time delay-> shutter. Comparing with the similar other products on market, what you can see is only a simple and rude shutter press operation, not enough time for focusing object, which may lead to a blurry picture.

 

Mode option:

How to enter one-shoot trigger mode or continuous shooting trigger? The position of the 3-position gear switch decide which mode it will enter when the shutter control line(RCD3017) is powered.

When the receiver is powered and the 3-position gear switch is on the MIDDEL, the mode will be for one-shoot mode after the shutter control line starts, or it will begin with continuous shooting mode.
