Description:
The USB-8476 module is a 1-port LIN Interface Device for connecting PCs to LIN networks and devices. It offers software-selectable, master/slave termination, so you can monitor, log, and test at all points of a LIN network. It includes driver software for NI-CAN that provides a powerful frame-based API for rapid application development.

Integrated Design
The convenient all-in-one design includes a 2m/6.6ft USB integrated cable and built-in transceiver to quickly run applications without additional cables or accessories. The USB-8476 controller is powered by USB. The LIN physical layer is powered by VBat (required for the LIN bus) and has a standard channel-to-bus isolation voltage of up to 500 VDC for up to 2 seconds.

Hardware Time Stamp
Hardware time stamping helps users record information down to microsecond time stamps and reconstruct network events. The USB-8476 interface connects to the LIN via a 9-pin male D-Sub (DB9) connector.

Functions:
The ATA6620 LIN transceiver for Atmel for the USB-8476 provides functionality and protection for LIN networks, including:
- Sleep and silent modes
- Transient voltage protection (-150 V to 100 V)
- LIN bus high DC voltage (-40 to 60 V)
- Thermal protection
